Carclo Ltd

Carclo-Optics has always been at the leading edge of optical technology since its foundation in 1936: such development has seen them placed at the forefront of their class. The dramatic growth during the 1950's to 1970's can be largely attributed to a policy of diversification and successful identification of emerging markets, particularly electro-optics.

Today Carclo-Optics boasts unrivalled expertise in optical design and manufacture. It has its own optical design department with full CAD facility and applications software. In addition, it has specialist tooling and optical polishing capabilities with  considerable experience in processes such as protective coatings, pad printing and in-mould foil, all of which are carried out on site.

Currently 51% of Carclo-Optics turnover is for export and it is anticipated that this percentage will continue to grow. The company's prime goal is to build upon this global base by continuing to develop long-term partnerships with quality customers. Whilst this base is geographically widespread, its activities are highly focused, as many customers are becoming more demanding of quality and often require a complete service from initial concept design through to full production.

Carclo-Optics has already been accredited with BS EN ISO 9001 and by offering a full package of products and services, has created a unique position for itself. The company is well placed to meet the growing demands of this expanding industry.

Carclo currently supplies lenses for the Seoul Semiconductor product group P4,  P5-II, Z1 and the mains powered Acriche (Type A2). Further products for the P7’s and the mains powered Acriche (Type A3) will follow shortly.
