How White LEDs are made

One of Seoul Semiconductor's strengths is its ability to control phosphor coating.
As an example for the P4 Series they can produce up to 38 different white colors. See the Color Temperature section.
LED Flux Rank
Colour | Reference | Flux available (lm) |
|---|---|---|
Pure | W42180W47180 | T1: 70 ~ 80 (1) |
Natural white | S42180 | S1, 54~60 S2, 60~70 |
Warm white | N42180 | S2, 60~70 T1: 70 ~ 80 |
First selection criteria is the Flux in Lumen (lm), see the LED Basic section to review Flux definition.
As an example we take the P4 Series to illustrate Seoul Semiconductor Flux ranking terminology.
For each LED product family please refer to the Binning & Labelling document available within each LED product page. Or see the Seoul Web site in order to get the latest version.Flux rank available are different for each LED family. As you can notice for the P4 series, higher flux is for Pure White.
(1) Yield is more moving from T1 to T2
(2) Supported for small volume for low CRI
